stocks rallied as much as 15% in Mumbai trading on Monday even as equity benchmarks, BSE Sensex and NSE Nifty, traded in the amid brisk in frontline bluechip counters.
Stocks that surged in excess of 15% included, Siddha Ventures Ltd.(20.00%), Shri Gang Industries(19.99%), Jindal Poly Investm(19.99%), James Warren Tea(19.99%), Multibase India(19.99%), Tokyo Finance(19.98%), Laffans Petro(19.98%), Sumedha Fiscal(19.88%), Purple Entertainment(19.20%) and Garware Tech(18.71%).
The 30-share BSE Sensex ended 241.3 points down at 77339.01, while the 50-share index, NSE closed 78.91 points at 23453.8.
In the Nifty50 index, 21 stocks closed in the green, while 29 stocks ended in the red.
Meanwhile, stocks such as James Warren Tea, Multibase India, Tokyo Finance, Laffans Petro and Sumedha Fiscal hit their fresh 52-week high, while Honasa Consumer, IGL, Ellora Trading Ltd., Pressure Sensitive Systems and Sanghvi Movers touched their new 52-week low in today's trade.
