alliance in the coming months. The remarks come amid growing political upheaval in neighbouring Maharashtra as the NCP teters on the brink of a vertical split. The JD(S) leader had previously predicted a ‘Maharashtra-like’ situation for the state without naming names - even as netizens discussed the possibility of a Congress split.

BJP leader BS Yediyurappa was a tad more vague, extending support to the JDS chief and indicating that the two would ‘fight together’ in the future.
He also said that the Karnataka Opposition would soon decide upon its representative. “Whatever HD Kumaraswamy is saying is absolutely true and I want to support his statement. Kumaraswamy and we will fight together in future," he said. The Karnataka Legislative Assembly's Budget session will begin on Monday and it is expected that the Opposition will attack the government on the alleged delay in the implementation of the five guarantees of the Congress.
