JioStar eyes strong ad revenue growth from IPL 2025 with multiple deals in place
According to media buyers, JioStar has secured multiple sponsors for IPL 2025, including Campa, My11Circle, Birla Opus, SBI, Coca-Cola, Kent Fans, Amfi, Amul, Zupee, PhonePe, Jaquar Bath Fittings, and Asian Paints.
«We are pretty confident that IPL 2025 is going to be much bigger than IPL 2024. We are aiming for a billion viewers this season,» said JioStar Chief Business Officer, Sports Revenue, SMB & Creator Ishan Chatterjee. He added, «IPL has its own place in India's marketing calendar, and many brands plan their campaigns around it.»
JioStar has divided the IPL advertiser market into 40 categories. Typically, one or two major players per category dominate IPL advertising. However, this year, multiple brands within each category are actively participating, Chatterjee noted, citing examples from the fantasy sports and paints categories.
JioStar is also looking to expand its advertiser base by targeting both large corporations and small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs). The company recently conducted a multi-city roadshow to demonstrate how SMBs can leverage IPL for business growth through sharper audience targeting. SMBs are already major advertisers on Google- and Meta-owned platforms.
