Joe Biden reveals how the US worked 'side-by-side' with Israel to eliminate Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar
Joe Biden on Friday commended Israel for 'eliminating' Hamas' Gaza leader Yahya Sinwar, often termed as the mastermind of the October 7, 2023 attaks on Israel.
Taking to his official account on X, Biden said that right after Israel suffered what he called the 'deadliest attack on Jews since the Holocaust', he ordered American intelligence officials to work 'side by side' with Israeli officials.
«Shortly after the October 7 massacres, I directed Special Operations personnel and our intelligence professionals to work side-by side with their Israeli counterparts to help locate and track Sinwar and other Hamas leaders hiding in Gaza», read Biden's statement.
Further, Biden described it as an “opportunity” to secure the release of Israeli hostages held by Hamas and to conclude the prolonged conflict in Gaza.
