Kamala Harris has found herself in the midst of a major plagiarism row for the second time this week itself, and this time it revolves around a Republican's congressional testimony. Fresh allegations are now emerging against Kamala Harris, with the first one being an accusation of taking more than a dozen sections from a book titled Smart on Crime: A Career Prosecutor’s Plan to Make Us Safer, without due permission from the author.
The second allegation now involves Harris' name in lifting nearly a thousand pages from a Republican's congressional statement, when the individual was called as a witness before the Congress. The allegation dates back to 2007, when Harris was called before House Judiciary Committee in support of a bill, according to The Telegraph report. The statements submitted by her appeared to be similar to those stated by the Republican Paul Logli, who had testified in support of the legislation just two months before, claimed previous reports.
A side-by-side analysis by The Telegraph found multiple extensive similarities between both the statements, and had corrected a few minute errors, and a replacement of a few words. The statements have a similar language structure and also refer to the same sources, and go as far as placing the same arguments around the subject at hand.
