Kangana Ranaut failed to bag a National Award this year even after being a strong contender.
However, the ‘Queen’ was a complete sport about the failure and congratulated the winners.
Taking to Instagram Stories, the ‘Tanu Weds Manu’ actress wrote, “Congratulations to all the winners of #nationalawards2023. It's such an art carnival that brings all the artists across the country together...It's truly magical to know and to get introduced to so much important work that's happening across all languages (sic)."
She also thanked fans who rooted for her and wrote that she is happy with whatever Lord Krishna granted her.
“All of you who are disappointed that my film Thalaivii didn't win any...please know I am eternally grateful for whatever Krishna gave and didn't give me and all of you who really love and appreciate me must appreciate my perspective as well...Art is subjective and I truly believe that the jury did their best… I wish everyone the best Hare Krishna (sic)."
‘Thalaivii’ was a political drama cum biopic. It was loosely based on the life and times of actress-politician Jayalalithaa.
Although Ranaut was praised for her performance, the movie went on to be a total disaster at the box-office, earning only Rs 4 crore.
Alia Bhatt and Kriti Sanon emerged as the biggest winners at the 69th National Awards. Both received an award for Best Actress for ‘Gangubai Kathiawadi’ and ‘Mimi’ respectively.
On the work front, Ranaut will next be seen in the Indira Gandhi biopic 'Emergency'.
