Kerala Governor Arif Mohammed Khan on Tuesday stepped up his attack on Kerala's Pinarayi Vijayan government, by reiterating his charge that the violent demonstration that the CPM's youth wing workers staged around his car a day earlier was designed to attack him and pointed his fingers at the CM. He also opened a front by demanding from the government a report on the poor economic situation of the state.
Talking to media persons here about the DYFI activists chasing his car in Thiruvananthapuram, Khan said on Tuesday. «It is the chief minister who has hatched this conspiracy (to attack him).
Three days ago, he made a public statement. He said the governor is provoking the students. But he did not give an instance as to how I am actually provoking them...This is not the first time… In Kannur, they had tried to assault me physically.
The one who was preventing the police from taking action against those creating disturbance has been rewarded by the CM by appointing him his secretary». Meanwhile, the BJP and Congress leaders of Kerala condemned the CPM activists' action against the Governor as Union Minister V Muraleedharan held discussions with Khan on the next move.
Announcing his decision to take on the state government over the economic situation, Khan said: «The chief minister is saying the government is not bound to reply to every query of the Governor. Let him not reply.
