At least 18 departments, including Emergency department, ICU and HDU and even store room, male wards and bathrooms were vandalized and CCTV cameras were broken, sources told ET.
Nurses protested vandalism from today morning as goons rampaged inside the wards at the state-run RG Kar Medical College and Hospital in Calcutta on Thursday morning, hours after unidentified miscreants ransacked medical establishments where a Medical PG student was raped and murdered last week.
Nursing staff sits for protest seeking their safety and security. «Emergency department was completely rampaged. The medical equipment broken and the ICU attacked and several departments were vandalized. They are not in a state to provide services,» people in the know told ET.

Huge mob entered and vandalized, even a police vehicle was vandalized. Miscreants carried rods and sticks and hurled stones at police. Attempt was to break the movement, the students claimed.
In 40 minutes, 18 departments have been vandalized by miscreants. Bathroom and changing rooms have not been spared, sources told ET.
