Kamala Harris' campaign saw a huge surge in financial support during August, raising over $300 million. This amount more than doubled the funds collected by former president Donald Trump’s campaign, which raised $130 million in the same period. While Trump’s team was initially confident after Joe Biden withdrew from the race, Harris’ entry into the competition has drastically shifted the financial momentum in her favor. Since Harris joined the race on July 21, her team has raised over $540 million, surpassing the fundraising efforts of the Republicans, as per the reports of Daily Mail.
The Harris campaign received a significant push after Minnesota Governor Tim Walz was selected as the Vice Presidential nominee. Alongside this, the Democratic convention in Chicago further energized her campaign. This support reflects a larger trend as many state Democratic parties reported increased donations after Biden endorsed Harris and stepped aside.
