Dhanush, Silambarasan (aka Simbu), Vishal, and Atharva have landed in deep trouble.
The Tamil Film Producers Council in Chennai has issued red card (aka disciplinary action) against these Kollywood bigwigs for unprofessionalism. Although the news has sent shockwaves across the TFI (Tamil Film Industry), these have come after several rumours of misconduct and unprofessional behaviour.
According to an ETimes report, Dhanush has been accused of duping Thenandal Studio Limited (the producers of the 2017 blockbuster ‘Mersal’ ), as he did not start shooting for a film even after getting paid in advance.
On the other hand, ‘Maanaadu’ star Simbu has also landed in controversy after he worked for just 27 days for a film as opposed to the 60 days promised in his contract. The complaint was filed by Michael Rayappan, the producer of ‘Anbanavan Adangadhavan Asaradhavan’. Moreover, he also postponed shooting for ‘Corona Kumar’ despite being given an advance of Rs 2 crore.
Vishal Reddy, who was previously the president of the association, is accused of mishandling the funds. Atharva has been slammed with a red card for failing to refund Rs 6 crore he received as an advance from producer Mathiazhagan.
Trade analyst Manobala Vijayabalan broke the news of X. “Tamil Producers Association CONFIRMS to issue Red Card for actor Silambarasan TR, Dhanush, Vishal & Atharva. #SilambarasanTR — Michael Rayappan issue. #Dhanush — Thenandal's film incompletion & loss. #Vishal — Mishandling the association's money. #Atharva — Mathiazhakan issue,” his post reads. The tweet went viral, gaining 372K views.
