Public sector lender Indian Bank was fined ₹5.85 lakh by the Central Bank of Sri Lanka — Financial Intelligence Unit for non compliance on financial transaction reporting. Indian Bank operates in Sri Lanka through two branches, located in Colombo and Jaffna. Indian Bank stated that it has implemented necessary preventive measures after the penalty to avoid similar incidents in the future, the bank informed the exchange.
