Najafgarh zones of this city have offered a 20 per cent discount offer for eligible voters in an attempt to increase voter turnout in the Lok Sabha elections, officials said on Tuesday. This place will have its Lok Sabha elections on May 25.
Deputy Commissioner of the Karol Bagh Zone Abhishek Mishra stated, «This initiative underscores the crucial role of voter participation in strengthening democracy and nurturing civic responsibility.»
In order to receive the discount under this program, voters must show proof of their involvement by showing the ink mark on their finger.
Mishra emphasized the importance of each vote and stated that the initiative's goal is to inspire people to actively participate in democracy and carry out their civic responsibilities. The associations want to increase voter participation and foster civic involvement in the Karol Bagh and Najafgarh regions by offering voters concrete rewards.
Additionally, he claimed that the MCD Public Health Department is contacting vendors in the Karol Bagh neighborhood to see if they may make similar «enticing» deals.
In agreement, Badal Kumar, the Deputy Commissioner of the Najafgarh Zone, also requested that the Mahipalpur Hotel and Guest House Association grant voters a room rental discount.
According to Kumar, eligible voters can take advantage of the discount by making hotel reservations within 24 hours of submitting their ballots.
