The Lok Sabha elections 2024 have witnessed a significant voter turnout, with polling stations registering approximately 66.95 per cent participation during the four phases of the ongoing general polls. This marks a substantial engagement from the populace, with an estimated 451 million individuals exercising their voting rights.
Led by Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar, along with Election Commissioners Gyanesh Kumar and Sukhbir Singh Sandhu, the Commission has directed Chief Electoral Officers (CEOs) of states scheduled for the fifth, sixth, and seventh phases to ensure timely distribution of voter information slips and ramp up outreach activities.
CEC Rajiv Kumar emphasised the importance of collaborative efforts in driving voter awareness, expressing gratitude for the enthusiastic involvement of various institutions, influencers, and celebrities, who have voluntarily contributed to the voter awareness campaign.
With four phases of Lok Sabha polls concluded, voting is set to culminate on June 1, with results slated for June 4. The forthcoming phases are scheduled for May 20, May 25, and June 1, urging citizens to cast their votes in substantial numbers, reinforcing the strength of Indian democracy.
Telecom Service Providers such as Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited, Bharti Airtel Limited, Jio Telecommunication, and Vodafone-Idea Limited are actively engaging mobile users in parliamentary constituencies through various communication channels, including push SMS, outbound dialling calls, RCS messaging, and WhatsApp alerts.
