MA Moelis Australia has added a new face to its corporate advisory lineup.
Moelis Australia corporate advisory and equities head Paul Rathborne.
The firm has hired Treadstone Resource Partners executive director Adam Bill as its new resource sector coverage lead and a managing director. He would report to Paul Rathborne, who heads corporate advisory and equities.
The appointment expands MA Moelis Australia’s natural resources coverage, following the hire of former Goldman Sachs and RBC Capital Markets sell-side analyst Paul Hissey in July.
Bill began his career at Deloitte as a private equity and M&A tax analyst, before switching to capital markets, first at Barclays in London and then Credit Suisse in Sydney.
His 15-year career spans a range of transactions including advising Evolution Mining on its acquisition of Northern Star’s Kundana assets, InterOil Corporation on its acquisition by Exxon Mobil and Shanta Gold’s takeover defence from Shandong Gold.
“Moelis & Company has bolstered its global resources coverage with the hire of Jeremy Lane and Douglas Pierson,” Rathborne said, referring to the firm’s metals and mining analysts in Hong Kong and New York.
“These senior global appointments, coupled with the strengthening of the Australian team, will position Moelis Australia well to provide global resources expertise.”
MA Moelis Australia is MA Financial Group’s Corporate Advisory and Equities division. The company established its equities platform in 2010.
