The committee heard about the US approach to central bank digital currency, cryptoasset regulation and how sexism is tackled in the US financial services industry.
Members of the committee had meetings with officials from the International Monetary Fund, the Securities and Exchange Commission, the New York Stock Exchange, the US Treasury and Congress.
MPs said they asked questions about American financial policy and its impact on the US and global economy in a bid to gather informal testimony from experts and inform its scrutiny of the financial watchdogs and Treasury in the UK.
Committee chair Harriett Baldwin said: «Now that the UK financial regulators have to consider competitiveness, the Treasury Committee was able to visit the world's biggest financial market to meet a wide range of senior regulators, private sector businesses, politicians and the New York Stock Exchange so that we can ask better-informed questions.»

Treasury Committee member Andrea Leadsom added: «Our visit provided key insights into how UK financial services can become more competitive as new markets open up, in particular we learnt a good deal about the potential opportunities, as well as the risks, of digital currencies.»
MPs also looked at the US approach to ensuring small and medium-sized businesses in America can access capital, and how the country is progressing on tackling inflation.
