Burhanpur assembly seat on Thursday reached Tehsil Office to submit his nomination form by riding a donkey, reported TOI.
“They (politicians) are making a donkey (fool) of people and thus, I rode a donkey while going to submit my nomination form,” independent candidate Priyank Singh Thakur said.
After reaching the office on a donkey, Thakur has also expressed the desire to use the animal as his symbol.
“I was also seeking a donkey as my symbol to contest the polls, but it is not available,” TOI said quoting Thakur.
He reached the office with some of his supporters chanting ‘Jai Jai Siyaram’. Thakur while addressing to the people near the office also expressed his anger against some local politicians.
Thakur was denied a chance by the current party in power, BJP, to contest for elections. After that, he decided to participate in the elections as an independent candidate.
“BJP has taken a wrong decision of denying me the ticket.
After winning the polls, I will extend my support to BJP. My way of election campaigning could be different, but the message will be very clear that the voters will no longer remain foolish to vote these two-three families,” he said, adding that development, poverty and exposing corruption of senior politicians of BJP and Congress will be his main agendas of election.
The voting for the 230-sear Madhya Pradesh assembly will be held on November 17 and the result will be declared on December 3.
