Lashing out at BSF for «helping infiltration» and letting people enter West Bengal through various international borders like Islampur, Chopra, Sitai and other locations, Banerjee said BSF was trying to destabilise Bengal.
«I have always said that I support the Centre. But if I see disturbances in my state and terrorism being helped, I will send a protest letter,» Banerjee said. She said she could sense the «blueprint of the central government» behind this attitude of BSF.
«The border is in the hands of BSF. I want to make it clear that the Trinamool Congress is not engaged in these things,» Banerjee said at an administrative meeting at the state secretariat Nabanna.
«If anyone thinks that Trinamool helps infiltrators to enter Bengal and hold Trinamool responsible for it, it is wrong. Our borders are guarded by BSF and not the state police. Goons are being sent here. They are coming from the border and committing crime,» Banerjee said. She directed DGP Rajeev Kumar to monitor whether BSF is allegedly helping infiltrators.
