Mamata's bid to convince agitating doctors hits a stalemate after the West Bengal CM says no to live-streamed talks
junior doctors and West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee failed as the doctors demanded video recording of the meeting after reaching Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's residence in Kalighat, which was denied by the Police citing security issues.
The protesting students said, «The video streaming cannot be done by both sides. Only they will do the video recording. However, we were not allowed to video and the CM said that the video will not be shared to us as the matter is subjudice. Paying respect to the CM, we thought of paying respect to her and we will get the minutes. Then, the Health Minister said it is too late and the meeting cannot be conducted.»
Chief secretary Manoj Pant and junior health minister Chandrima Bhattacharya were present along with Banerjee at the meeting originally scheduled to begin at 7.15 in the evening. All 35 doctors present were allowed into the chief minister's home.
However, there was an impasse as the doctors were not allowed to live-stream the meeting, and the meeting had not started till the time of reporting.
The CM told the medical students that video recording cannot be shared as the issue is sub-judice.
