Jodhpur for murdering his wife, who happened to be the former president of Mahila Morcha of Rashtriya Loktantrik Party (RLP). The accused, identified as Ramesh Beniwal (35), reportedly locked the door and remained beside his wife's lifeless body throughout the night. When the police arrived on Saturday afternoon, he finally opened the door.
The victim, Suman, and Ramesh had been married for 15 years and had recently shifted to their current address a year ago. Their children were residing in a hostel for their studies. According to the police, a heated argument erupted between the couple late on Friday night, and in a fit of rage, Ramesh attacked Suman's head with a stone, resulting in her tragic death.
Following the murder, Ramesh called his brother-in-law in Osian to confess the crime. The brother-in-law then alerted relatives in Jodhpur, who rushed to the couple's house. Despite their efforts, Ramesh refused to open the door.
Subsequently, the landlord of the house contacted the police, leading to Ramesh's arrest. DCP (East) Amrita Duhan revealed that the couple had frequent arguments, and Ramesh's brother-in-law mentioned that he received a call around 2 am, in which Ramesh claimed to have killed his wife because she did not serve him a meal when he returned home late at night. Ramesh was involved in the timber business and visited Jodhpur occasionally, while Suman had previously worked at a petrol pump before joining RLP.
