Manipur chief minister N Biren Singh while congratulating new Mizoram chief minister Lalduhoma wished his leadership would contribute to securing the future of Northeast.
Singh and former Mizoram chief minister Zoramthanga had a bitter relationship after large-scale violence broke out on May 3 and a large number of people from Manipur hills took shelter in Mizoram.
From some quarters it was accused that Zoramthanga was meddling with the internal affairs of Manipur.

Zoram People’s Movement (ZPM) President Lalduhoma was sworn-in as the 14th Chief Minister of Mizoram on Friday.
Lalduhoma on Wednesday assured that the management and care of displaced individuals and refugees, implemented by the previous Mizoram government, will continue under the new government.
Lalduhoma, also said that he has already spoken to Union Home Minister Amit Shah and stated that issues concerning refugees and internally displaced people in Mizoram will be discussed at the earliest.
