Noah Lyles won the Olympics gold medal for the men's 100m sprint and Team USA added yet another gold medal to their rising tally. However, there have been stern discussions around the close finish of the particular finals, that has seen Jamaica's Kishane Thompson finish almost on the same lines with the gold medalist from USA.
USA's Noah Lyles has been at his peak of form in the US Track and Field Trials as well, which is being continued in the Olympics as well, with a gold medal from a top-notch finish. He picked up speed right from the start but was being closely contained by Jamaica's Kishane Thompson and during the finish, it seemed like Thompson had crossed the finish line first. But upon constant pondering and analyzing, officials came to the decision that Lyles was the winner of this race.

Right after the end of the race, Jamaican fans threw up an uproar on social media around this decision, even though right after the race, the Jamaican sprinter was seen in a celebratory mode as Thompson anticipated that he was the winner of this race. However, no winner of the race was announced for a while as race officials kept replaying the race and visuals to get a clear understanding.
However, Thompson was in for a shock when he learnt later that it was Lyles who had actually won the race, as officials finally came to this decision.
