‘Meiyazhagan’ OTT release date announced: When and where to watch Tamil slice-of-life drama
Tamil drama film ‘Meiyazhagan’ is heading to OTT platforms soon! The Karthi-starrer, which is also known as ‘Sathyam Sundaram’ in Telugu, will be available for streaming on Netflix from October 25 as per a Filmibeat report. All About ‘Meiyazhagan’
Helmed by C Prem Kumar, ‘Meiyazhagan’ is headlined by ‘Ponniyin Selvan’ star Karthi along with Kollywood veterans such as Arvind Swamy, Rajkiran, Sri Divya, Devadarshini, Jayaprakash, Sriranjani, Ilavarasu, Karunakaran and Saran Shakthi. The movie has been produced by Tamil star couple Jyothika and Suriya under 2D Entertainment.
The film was initially announced in February 2023 with the working title Karthi 27, marking Karthi’s 27th film as the lead actor. The official title was later revealed in May of that year. Principal filming began in November 2023, with most of the production taking place in Chennai and Kodambakkam, concluding in late February 2024.
The movie features music by Govind Vasantha, with Mahendiran Jayaraju handling cinematography and editing by R. Govindraj.
Meiyazhagan was released globally on September 27, 2024, receiving widespread acclaim. Critics praised the performances of the lead actors, particularly Karthi and Aravind Swamy, along with the storyline, Govind Vasantha's evocative background score, emotional depth, and Premkumar's direction and screenplay.
