Mika Singh claims Bipasha Basu once caused him Rs 10 crore loss: ‘I know why she is out of work'
Bipasha Basu has been on the big screen. Singer Mika Singh, who financed her last project, Bhushan Patel’s web series ‘Dangerous’, lashed out at the actress and her husband Karan Singh Grover for unprofessional behaviour.
In an interview with Pinkvilla, Singh claimed that he had initially intended to make a horror movie on a shoestring budget with the ‘Dil Mil Gaye’ actor. However, Bipasha’s interference inflated the budget from Rs 4 to Rs 14 crore.
“See, I liked Karan a lot, and I wanted to back a film that would push my music to the forefront. I just wanted to make a low-budget film, around Rs 4 crore. We roped in director Bhushan Patel, who had previously helmed Alone, which featured Bipasha in a double role.”
Mika revealed that he had initially only been considering working on the project with Karan and another actress, but Bipasha expressed a strong desire to be part of the film. “The shoot was planned for London, and what was originally a Rs 4 crore budget skyrocketed to Rs 14 crore. The chaos Bipasha created during filming made me regret stepping into production,” the singer admitted, detailing the challenges he faced while working on Dangerous.
According to Mika, Bipasha had insisted on having a team she was comfortable with, especially since she and Karan were portraying an on-screen couple required to perform intimate scenes. However, once filming began, she started making demands. “Out of the blue, she threw tantrums—refusing to do certain scenes, setting conditions—it was a complete nightmare,” Mika
