In Siaha District, a total of 9 candidates submitted their nominations while 10 candidates filed their nominations from Champhai District.
There is 13 candidates in Kolasib District while 15 candidates submitted their nomination from Serchhip District.
In Lawngtlai District,13 candidates are in fray while 14 candidates submitted their nominations in Mamit District.
A total of 11 candidates filed their nomination in Saitual District while four candidates filed their papers from Khawzawl District. In Hnhathial, a total of three candidates filed their nominations.
There is likelihood of multi corner contest with the BJP, Congress, the ruling Mizo National Front, the Zoram People’s Movement (ZPM), and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) putting candidates.
Mizoram will go to polls on November 7 to elect 40 members of the Mizoram Legislative Assembly.
Zoramthanga on Friday said that MNF will romp back to power for second consecutive term with more than 25 seat in the 40-member Assembly in the November 7 elections.
«The ZPM has a grassroot base. Every election is challenging, so is this election.
However, the MNF will return to power with a comfortable majority. We would win 25 seats in the elections,” he said.
