Narendra Modi raked up the “red diary” issue in Rajasthan on Thursday when he said the “black deeds of corruption” of the Congress government in the state are registered in it and BJP should be voted to power to unravel the truth and punish the guilty. He reiterated his stand on bringing to book the paper-leak mafia as well in the poll-bound state.
Modi inaugurated or laid the foundation stone of several projects worth Rs 5,000 Cr in the state during a visit to Jodhpur.
This includes an airport which he underlined will give a boost to tourism and contribute to more employment to the youth. At an election rally in the district, the prime minister charged that the Ashok Gehlot-led Congress government is steeped in corruption and should be booted out to usher in development.
“Have you heard of the ‘red diary’? People say that all the black deeds of corruption by the Congress in the last five years are there in that red diary.
Shouldn’t these black deeds be revealed? Shouldn’t the account of corruption be settled and the fraudsters be punished?” Modi said.
He emphasised that as long as Congress is in power this truth will never be made public and the guilty will not face action. He urged the people to vote for BJP to ensure that justice is done.
Rajendra Gudha, a minister in the Gehlot government who was sacked by Gehlot, had waved a red diary in the Rajasthan Assembly during the monsoon session in July and claimed that it has details of illegal financial transactions made by officials.
