N Chandrababu Naidu on Saturday knocked on the Supreme Court's doors with a challenge to the Andhra Pradesh High Court order that dismissed his petition for quashing the FIR against him in the alleged Skill Development Corporation scam.
It may be noted that the Andhra Pradesh High Court had rejected his plea on Friday. Later on the same day, a court in Vijayawada had granted custody of Naidu to the CID for two days.
Naidu, a former chief minister of the state, was arrested on September 9 for allegedly misappropriating funds from the Skill Development Corporation.
The alleged scam reportedly caused a loss of over Rs 300 crore to the state exchequer.
Meanwhile, a team of CID officials interrogated the 73-year-old politician on Saturday. On Friday, the ACB Court in Vijayawada granted two days' police custody of the 73-year old Naidu to the CID for further interrogation.
The court had allowed questioning of Naidu in the jail premises itself considering the paucity of time, health and age of the former chief minister, helping him avoid the nearly 200 km-long journey from Rajamahendravaram central prison to the CID office in Mangalagiri.
The CID has been allowed to videograph the entire examination.
