Miki Sudo, gobbled down 51 hot dogs within 10 minutes to bag the champion's title. Nathan's Hot Dog Eating is indeed a very popular contest in the US, with numerous participating trying their best to gobble hot dogs, as many as they can, within a few minutes, but it is only the 'real foodies' who win in the end.
If Miki Sudo's record breaking feat of 51 hot dogs wasn't enough, she was followed by Mayoi Ebihara of Japan, who was placed second after eating 37 dogs, followed by Arizona’s Michelle Lesco, who ended up being third after having eaten 23.5 dogs.

Miki Sudo is a very popular name in the Nathan's Hot Dog Eating contest as she has consecutively won the women's title for many years, only dropping out in the year 2021 once, during her pregnancy year. However, that did not stop her from coming back and snatching back her winning abilities. Her last personal best was gobbling 48.5 hot dogs in 2020, which was also a self-acclaimed victory for her, beating her own merits with grit.
Her popularity at the women's title increased manifold due to the fact that the iconic Joey “Jaws” Chestnut has dropped out of competing in this year's contest due to a sponsorship issue.
