Basketball player, Dwyane Wade, shared how a routine checkup led to a life-changing cancer diagnosis that forced him to face his own mortality and the removal of 40% of his kidney. He revealed the news on his podcast, The Why With Dwyane Wade, which was released on 30th January. The 43-year-old ex-basketball player gave some insight to what happened recently to him during the health scare. What seemed to be a minor stomach illness with a relatively weak urine flow issue, turned out to be the detection of a tumor in his right kidney. He confessed that since retiring from the NBA in 2019, he had not attended regular checkups. After his father had surgery, Wade decided to get himself a full-body exam.
