Jajarkot district at midnight on Friday, resulted in a tragic death toll of at least 128 people.
Reports from state-run Nepal Television indicate that in Western Nepal, specifically Jajarkot and Rukum districts, the earthquake claimed the lives of 80 individuals and left more than 140 people injured.
The epicenter of this seismic event was located in Lamidanda within Jajarkot district.
The impact of the earthquake, which occurred at 11:47 pm on Friday, was felt not only in the surrounding areas, including Kathmandu, but also reached as far as New Delhi, India.
Prime Minister Pushpakamal Dahal 'Prachanda' promptly headed to the site with a medical team on Saturday morning, and officials have mobilized both the Nepal Army and Nepal Police to conduct rescue operations.
