New Transurban boss Michelle Jablko plans to offer more incentives such as car hire and car wash discounts to users of the toll road group’s Linkt accounts to encourage drivers to keep paying for its roads despite the high cost of living.
“We’re looking at things to add to the reward program,” Ms Jablko told The Australian Financial Review in her first interview as chief executive after succeeding Scott Charlton on Thursday. “I think there will be lots more opportunities there.”

Ms Jablko reiterated previous comments that she plans to concentrate on “customer value”.
Transurban’s Linkt business provides tags to drivers to put in cars to pay tolls. It also has an app, LinktGO, that allows tolls to be paid with a mobile phone.
Customers with Linkt or LinktGO accounts have been able to use vouchers to save money on petrol at Coles Express stations since 2019. Discounts on Star car washes and hiring vehicles through Europcar were added in fiscal 2023, and Transurban wanted to add others, Ms Jablko said. “Being on the Linkt app will provide more and more benefits over time.”
Chairman Craig Drummond told the annual general meeting that Transurban was focused on its social licence to operate.
