Reform UK's top leader Nigel Farage, in an interview with BBC, had claimed that the West had somehow 'provoked' Vladimir Putin to go into war against the Ukraine, a statement that has received severe criticism from leaders like Rishi Sunak and Keir Starmer, says an Evening Standard report.
In the interview, Farage had commented that Putin was forced to go into War against West-backed Ukraine, by drawing a correlation between the rapid NATO and European Union expansion in various regions around Russia in recent times. However, he appears to have quickly doubled down on these statements by fine-changing his tune after Labour leader Sir Keir strictly criticized these remarks. According to Sir Keir, these remarks were 'disgraceful' while Rishi Sunak said that Farage's recent comments were somehow an appeasement of the Russian President.
