Malayalam film editor Nishad Yusuf, aged 43, was discovered dead at his residence in Panampilly Nagar, Kochi, around 2 a.m. on Wednesday, news reports said. His sudden demise has sent shockwaves across the film industry, leaving fans and colleagues in grief. Nishad Yusuf had built an impressive career, earning acclaim for his editorial work on notable films like Thallumaala and Unda. His exceptional editing skills in Thallumaala earned him a prestigious State Award. Recently, he had worked on high-profile projects including Mammootty’s Bazooka and Suriya’s upcoming film Kanguva, scheduled to release on November 14.
He was also involved in several other projects, including Operation Java, Saudi Vellakka, One, Chaveer, Ramachandra Boss & Co, Udal, Adios Amigo, Alangam, Exit, and One Thousand Lies.
The cause of his untimely death remains unclear at this time, and his body has been transferred to Ernakulam General Hospital for further procedures. Authorities are expected to provide more information soon.
