Telugu Desam Pary (TDP) supremo and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister-designate N Chandrababu Naidu will be sworn in at 11.27 AM on June 12, the Chief Minister’s Office said. The event will take place near Kesarapalli IT Park at Gannavaram in Krishna district. The IT park is close to the airport.
The oath-taking ceremony was earlier scheduled to be held at Amravati, but as several Central leaders are expected to attend the event, the location was chosen as Gannavaram, due to its proximity to the airport, reports The Indian Express.
The swearing-in ceremony will have thousands of TDP, Jana Sena Party (JSP) and BJP supporters will be in attendance.
In the Assembly elections held on May 13, the TDP-led coalition, comprising the JSP and BJP, secured a resounding victory, clinching a total of 164 seats. Within the alliance, the TDP emerged as the dominant force by securing 135 seats, while the JSP achieved success in all 21 constituencies it contested.
The BJP secured victory in eight out of the ten seats it contested, further bolstering the coalition’s triumph.
Prime Minister-designate Narendra Modi is expected to attend the swearing-in ceremony of N Chandrababu Naidu as the CM. Modi is set to be sworn-in as prime minister at ceremony at the Rashtrapati Bhavan on Sunday evening.
“Prime Minister Narendra Modi, state Governor (S Abdul Nazeer) and other eminent people are expected to attend the swearing-in ceremony (of Naidu),” Chief Secretary Neerabh Kumar Prasad said in a statement.
