Taylor Swift buying Notts County, League Two club owners have responded by smashing the hopes of Swifties.
The speculations started when Weekend Sport newspaper has reported Swift wanted to buy the football club by following the footsteps of Hollywood stars Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney who have bought fellow League Two club Wrexham.
Reedtz brothers who currently own Notts Country responded to the rumours by using Swift’s top hits.
The statement issued by the duo said: «As sorry as we are to disappoint the Swifties in our fanbase, we're going to have to shake this story off.
There's certainly no bad blood between ourselves and Taylor, but at such an exciting time for us and the club, she surely couldn't have believed we would relinquish our control.»
The statement added: «We'll leave a blank space in tomorrow's pre-match play list for a track from her newly-released 1989 album as a gesture of goodwill.»
At present, the club in question sits second in League Two following their promotion from the National League earlier this year.
While in other news for Taylor Swift, the pop star has released her own version of her successful album 1989 on Oct 27, 2023. 1989 is the most awarded pop album by any artist in history, earning Swift her second Grammy for Album of the Year.
