In a blog post, the company announced this significant update, signalling its continued efforts towards building a metaverse. Users will now have the option to use their Meta avatars during video calls on Facebook Messenger and Instagram. The avatar feature from Meta resembles Apple's Memoji avatars on FaceTime calls. These avatars mimic facial expressions and mouth movements to enhance communication. Users can make their avatars perform actions such as giving a thumbs up or rolling on the floor laughing, bringing more personality and emotion to their virtual interactions.
