Ola Electric to showcase futuristic electric superbike concept at Indian GP: Report
Diamondhead boasts a futuristic and minimalist design, reminiscent of something out of a science fiction movie. Its front end features a large, diamond-shaped panel that houses a light strip, with the actual headlamp unit situated underneath.
This design gives it the appearance of a semi-faired motorcycle. The bike is equipped with disc brakes at both ends, and the rear wheel is covered for improved aerodynamic efficiency.
Even the front suspension takes an unconventional angle, nearly parallel to the ground.
According to the report, Diamondhead may offer significantly more power than the Ultraviolette F77, currently one of the sportiest electric motorcycles available in the Indian market. With its increased power, it is likely to come at a higher price point and become the flagship product in Ola Electric's lineup.
When initially unveiled at Ola's event in August, Diamondhead was accompanied by three other concept vehicles: Cruiser, Adventure, and Roadster, each designed for its respective segment.
It's possible that Diamondhead will once again be showcased alongside its fellow models at the Indian Grand Prix. Pre-reservations for these motorcycles are already open, and it is expected that they will be officially launched by the end of 2024.
The MotoGP event is making its debut in India and is scheduled to take place at the Buddh International Circuit (BIC) from September 22 to 24, 2023.
The BIC has previously hosted Formula 1 races for three consecutive years but underwent modifications to meet the requirements for hosting MotoGP. Preparations for the event are in full swing, with team equipment, including safety cars and bikes, already making their way to the track.
