Chandrayaan 3 near the south pole, a bizarre video has surfaced in which a purported student of a madrassa in Pakistan asserts that the moon and sun revolve around the earth.
In the video, which has now gone viral on social networks, a reporter asks the'student' if science and English are taught in the madrassas. She then asks the student if the earth is round or flat, and the teenager says neither.
He asserts that the earth is stationary, and the sun and earth revolve around it. He even went on to attribute the weather and day/night phenomena to this theory.
A seemingly exasperated reporter quips, See, this is what the students of Madrasa are saying, that even Einstein couldn’t tell us."
The video has gotten hillarious reactions on Twitter.
«How can some one claim earth is flat in 2023 is beyond my imagination,» said one.
It is, however, not clear if the video is indeed from Pakistan or if it is a recent one.
But he is perhaps not alone in believing the flat earth theory; a small group of people still believe that the planet is flat.
Ironically, the video surfaced when India became the first country in the world to land a spacecraft near the south pole of the moon.
Overall, India became the fourth country—after the US, China, and Russia—to have successfully landed on the moon’s surface.
The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) is also preparing to launch the Aditya-L1 Solar Mission, the first space-based Indian observatory to study the Sun, on September 2, 2023.
Japan is also preparing to launch its moon mission. The Smart Lander for Investigating the Moon, or SLIM, lunar probe was developed by the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA).
