Hitoshi Iwaaki’s sci-fi horror manga of the same name, 'Parasyte: The Grey' was published from 1989 to 1994 by Kodansha. Despite being based on a Japanese manga, a Korean production house is making the television series. Netflix has released the first trailer of the live-action television series. The trailer has introduced many elements, unfamiliar to the readers of the manga.
According to 'cbr.com', the one-minute 23-second trailer opens with some people being taken over by alien parasites to dominate the Earth and take control of human beings here. Jeon So-nee’s character Su-in, is a young woman who struggles in the situation as she is forced to live with the alien.

It borrows the plot and narrative elements from the manga, it develops the story independently and so the treatment of the story and the main characters including the protagonist are also different.
