Percy Jackson and the Olympians" books will arrive on Disney+ this December 20. The show's first season, based on the initial book, «The Lightning Thief,» will premiere with two episodes and follow with weekly releases. A teaser for the series disclosed the premiere date and introduced the main cast. Walker Scobell, Leah Sava Jeffries and Aryan Simhadri play the lead roles of Percy Jackson, Annabeth Chase and Grover Underwood. The teaser commences with Virginia Kull's voiceover as Sally Jackson, Percy's mother, confirming the existence of Greek gods and half-bloods. Images of Camp Half-Blood, Olympus, Ares (Adam Copeland) and confrontations with monsters accompany her words. The trailer concludes with Glynn Turman, embodying Mr. Brunner or Chiron, welcoming Percy.

The show's first season revolves around «The Lightning Thief.» It follows 12-year-old Percy, a demigod discovering his divine powers. When Zeus accuses him of stealing the master lightning bolt, Percy, aided by Grover and Annabeth, embarks on a quest to recover it and reinstate order to Olympus.
