Konda Surekha, ignited a big controversy when she linked the high-profile divorce of actors Naga Chaitanya and Samantha Ruth Prabhu to KT Rama Rao (KTR), the working president of Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS). Her comments sparked outrage not only within the political arena but also among members of the film fraternity, leading to a series of public condemnations from actors like Nagarjuna Akkineni, Samantha, Naga Chaitanya, Khushbu and several BRS leaders.
Speaking to the media, Congress leader Konda Surekha made sensational allegations, claiming that KTR, who was a minister at the time of Samantha and Naga Chaitanya’s separation, was responsible for the couple's divorce. Naga Chaitanya and Samantha Ruth Prabhu had announced their separation in 2021. According to Surekha, KTR allegedly tapped the phones of actresses, exploited their vulnerabilities, and blackmailed them.
«It is KT Rama Rao because of whom Samantha's divorce happened. He was a minister at that time and used to tap the phones of the actresses, find their weaknesses, and blackmail them. He would make them drug addicts, and everyone knows this — Samantha, Naga Chaitanya, his family, everybody is aware that such a thing happened,» the minister had said.
