Narendra Modi held a 3 km-long roadshow from Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Airport to Gandhinagar, along with UAE president Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, on Tuesday. Nahyan is in Ahmedabad to attend the tenth edition of Vibrant Gujarat Global Business Summit, which will start on Wednesday.
The Ministry of External Affairs took to social media and posted «Reaffirming the strong bonds of friendship! In a special gesture, PM Narendra Modi warmly received HH Mohamed bin Zayed, UAE President and Ruler of Abu Dhabi as he arrived at the Ahmedabad Airport.» Zayed is the chief guest at the Vibrant Gujarat Summit this year.
Earlier in the day, Modi inaugurated Vibrant Gujarat Global Trade Show at Gandhinagar as a part of the Global Summit. The 'Vibrant Gujarat Global Trade Show 2024', which is being held from January 9 to 13, 2024, at Helipad Ground, Gandhinagar, is expected to be the largest ever in the country and is spread across two lakh square metres.
The show has generated participation from over 1,000 exhibitors in the research sector representing 20 countries. The entire exhibition area has been fully booked.
Around 100 countries will be visiting, and 33 countries will be participating as partners, said a Gujarat government statement.
Prime Minister Modi also met heads of state of Mozambique and Timor-Leste and pledged stronger economic and strategic ties with the two nations. The government said that during his meeting with Mozambique President Filipe Jacinto Nyusi, Modi expressed his «strong commitment» to support Mozambique's development priorities.
