Kashmir on Wednesday condemned the attack on the hospital in Gaza by Israel calling for international intervention from the to stop the Israeli aggression and violence.
Former chief minister of Jammu and Kashmir Farooq Abdullah expressed sadness over the inability of the Arab nations to raise the voice of Palestinians at the United Nations and other international platforms.
“India has stood by Palestine since the times of Jawaharlal Nehru and called for an end to oppression. It is sad that the government of India has supported Israel, even though people here support Palestine,” said Abdullah.
The Lok Sabha member from Kashmir said that the jews were settled there in 1917 under a British conspiracy and gave them land of locals creating an apartheid situation. “Muslims there are facing oppression which cannot be described in words. The Middle East is in terrible turmoil,” said Abdullah.
The Muttahida Majlis-e-Ulema, an amalgam of religious, social and educational organisations in J&K, led by Mirwaiz Umar Farooq in a joint statement expressed shock and outrage at the bombing of the hospital in Gaza expressing solidarity with the people of Palestine.
“We condemn the massacre of Palestinians in a hospital. It is a blatant war crime under the United Nations Charter and the Geneva Conventions. People of Palestine are being collectively punished by Israel and all their human rights have been snatched from them,” read the statement of MMU.
