In the wake of the skyrocketing prices of tomatoes, the fast-food titan has dropped the fruit from their menu. The North and East branches of the fast food giant in the National Capital announced that it would be serving dishes sans tomatoes due to a “temporary” seasonal issue.
In a public statement published on Friday, the representative of the fast-food giant said that tomatoes will be lacking in the menu items, due to “seasonal issues”. The entire statement reads, “As a brand committed to the highest standards of food quality and safety, we use ingredients only after rigorous food quality and safety checks. However, due to seasonal issues and despite our best efforts, we are not able to procure tomatoes that pass our world-class, stringent quality checks.” Another apologetic statement from the food chain was shared by a Twitter user on the microblogging platform.
It reads, “Despite our best efforts, we are not able to get adequate quantities of tomatoes which pass our world-class stringent quality checks. Hence, for the time being, we are forced to serve you products without tomatoes.” Most of the netizens were far from amused at the statement. Many revealed how many eateries served them food with tomatoes, despite the paucity of the fruit-vegetable.
