Spare became the fastest-selling non-fiction book since 2004 in the US. It also became part of the coveted list of three bestsellers in week one after Barack Obama's A Promised Land and Mitchell Obama's ‘Becoming’. Apart from Prince Harry's book, all the other books on the non-fiction list are self-help books, an industry that has flourished between 2013 and 2019, with the number of titles published more than doubling in that period.
Forbes reported that Atomic Habits by James Clear was the second bestselling book in the US with over 5,00,000 copies sold. Meanwhile, another new royal book is coming out in paperback next week which will make many shocking revelations about the royals including Kate wanting a tougher response to Harry and Meghan, and King Charles’ clearing out following the death of the Queen.
Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton is expected to respond to the allegations of racism levelled against the royal family by Prince Harry and Meghan Markle in an interview with Oprah Winfrey in March 2021.
