Princess Diana's fatal car crash in a trailer for Part 1 of the final season «The Crown» that was released on Thursday.
The sixth and final season of the popular series will be split in two parts, with Part 1 slated for November 16 release.
The trailer also teased the overwhelming paparazzi frenzy following Princess Diana's death along with depiction of the change in royal family’s relationship to the press after her passing.
The first half, which comprises of four episodes, explores the budding relationship between Princess Diana and Dodi Fayed before their tragic car accident. The Part 2 shifts back the focus on Queen Elizabeth and Prince Charles.
It also gives screen time to Prince William and Prince Harry, who navigate their royal duties following their mother’s untimely death. The six-episode second half of the series will be released on December 14.
The popular series boasts of a stellar ensemble cast featureing Imelda Staunton as Queen Elizabeth II, Jonathan Pryce as Prince Philip, Lesley Manville as Princess Margaret, Dominic West as Prince Charles, Elizabeth Debicki as Princess Diana, Claudia Harrison as Princess Anne, Olivia Williams as Camilla Parker Bowles, Bertie Carvel as Tony Blair, Salim Daw as Mohamed Al Fayed, and Khalid Abdalla as Dodi Fayed.
Rufus Kampa and Ed McVey play Prince William at different ages, while Fflyn Edwards and Luther Ford play Prince Harry. Meg Bellamy plays Kate Middleton.
