The film Queer revolves around the life of William Lee, played by Daniel Craig. He is an isolated expatriate living in Mexico City. His days are spent drinking and writing as he seeks purpose. Lee encounters Eugene Allerton, a former soldier portrayed by Drew Starkey, and becomes infatuated with him. They journey together into the Ecuadorian jungle, offering Lee the prospect of genuine connection.

Queer premiered at the 81st Venice International Film Festival on September 3, 2024. It had a limited U.S. theatrical release on November 27. Following this, A24 distributed the film across theaters in the U.S. and U.K. on December 13, 2024.
