Blinkit and Swiggy’s Instamart vertical saw their total orders placed as of the evening of December 31, 2023 surpass the total orders placed on the New Year’s eve last year.

Mumbai-based Zepto’s cofounder and chief executive Aadit Palicha also posted on X saying demand on the platform had begun picking up by evening.
Dhindsa also posted on X at 4.46 pm that the biggest order on Blinkit during the day came from Lucknow worth Rs 33,683.
Earlier during the day the Blinkit CEO had visited one of its dark stores in Gurugram. “Came to one of our stores in Gurugram. Replenishment going on! The truck is mostly full of chips, soft drinks and other party needs. Might need more such trucks here in the upcoming hours looking at the orders coming in,” he wrote on X.
Quick commerce companies are also offering additional payouts to attract delivery partners for the surge in demand, delivery executives told ET. For some platforms in certain locations, the number of delivery partners servicing orders was 30-35% higher
