Appearing on Ranveer Allahbadia's podcast, The Ranveer Show, the 54-year-old actor expressed a sense of nostalgia and concern for the younger generation. When asked by Allahbadia about growing up in India during the 1970s and 1980s compared to the present day, Madhavan reminisced about the simplicity and richness of life back then.
«I feel sorry for today's kids,» he said. «We had the best times climbing trees, catching tadpoles, and getting into and out of fights. We learned valuable life lessons from these experiences.»
Madhavan highlighted the importance of these formative experiences in shaping character. «It was about swallowing our ego, pride, and saying sorry without our parents interfering,» he noted. «We learned to stand up for ourselves and resolve conflicts.»
He further emphasized the impact of his generation on the global stage, stating, «Look at all the CEOs around the world today. Many of them were born in India in the 1970s and 1980s. This speaks volumes about the upbringing of our generation. We did something right.»
