Vande Bharat Express train along the Patna-Jhajha-Asansol-Howrah route was successful compelted on Saturday, marking a significant step toward its operationalization. As per a ToI report, the trial run was completed in six and a half hours.
«The train commenced its journey from Patna Junction at 8 am and arrived at Howrah at 2.30 pm. Covering a total distance of 535 km within approximately 6 hours and 30 minutes, the train made scheduled halts at Jasidih and Asansol stations.
Upon its return journey, it departed from Howrah at 3.55 pm and arrived at Patna Junction around 10.35 pm,» Birendra Kumar, Chief Public Relations Officer (CPRO) of East Central Railway (ECR) said. The fastest trai on this route is Kolkata Rjdhani, which takes 06 hours and 55 mins to cover the distance between these two important eastern cities.
As per some reports, after successful trails, the Vande Bharat service for these cities is likely to start by August end. This would be the fourth Vande Bharat train in Bengal.
The Indian Railways is swiftly progressing to make Vande Bharat train services fully operational for commercial purposes between Patna and Howrah later this month. The CPRO said, «We have finalized its fare structure and other pertinent details, which will be promptly shared with the public.» This development marks the second Vande Bharat Express deployment in Bihar, following the inauguration of the Patna-Ranchi Vande Bharat Express by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on June 27.
