Traditionally summer isn't a strong quarter for children's hospitals. Hyderabad-based Rainbow is India's largest pediatric and maternity multi-specialty hospital.
Revenue rose 15% to Rs 330 crore in Q1FY25. EBITDA increased 6.9% YoY to Rs 94 crore. The EBITDA margin dropped 216 basis points YoY to 28.4%.
The company said EBITDA growth was moderate due to the initial costs associated with new facilities, and expressed optimism in the long-term value of these investments.
Rainbow's occupancy levels rose 151 basis points to 42.4%, inpatients rose 10% to 21,289, outpatient consultations increased 12% and deliveries by 10% to 4077.
The company successfully completed a significant expansion in the first quarter, inaugurating three new hospitals with a combined capacity of 280 beds within committed timelines to enhance our hub and spoke network in Hyderabad, Bengaluru and Chennai.
The company said works at proposed hospitals in Hennur, Bengaluru (60 beds) and the regional hub hospital in Rajahmundry (100 beds) are progressing as per schedule and both hospitals are on track to commence operations by end of Q4 FY25.
During the first quarter, the company invested Rs. 56.7 crore in capital expenditures towards expanding and enhancing facilities.
Rainbow has over 2000 beds capacity across its network including the managed beds.
